![]() |
This WWI memorial was unveiled just one day after the start of World War II on September 4, 1939. Constructed of LaCass Granite, it was designed by noted Canadian sculptor Elizabeth Wyn Wood and carved by Lous Temporale. It is unique in that it depicts two heroic figures, a soldier and a woman, to symbolize those who fought and those who served at home, along with stylized elements of the Canadian landscape. Designated in 1997. |
