Whether you are getting married, starting a business or want to learn more about your workplace or industry, help is available locally.
The Welland Public Library has recently entered into a partnership with the Ontario Government to facilitate access to government programs and services available through the ServiceOntario website using the library's public Internet workstations.
With help from library staff, you can navigate the ServiceOntario website to find government information for businesses or individuals, as well as over 400 government forms available online. Many routine transactions, such as applying for a birth certificate or change of address for your health card or driver's licence, can be completed online through the library website, using a major credit card if payment is required.
The ServiceOntario site also provides information on specific types of workplaces and industries. It helps individuals to find education or employment information, and provides support services to Ontario businesses.
A major role for libraries is to provide information, and government is a major source of information. The complexity of our society, combined with a need to make government information widely available, has led to an increased use of the Internet. Libraries are a key entry point for citizens to online services.
Partnering with Ontario Libraries is an excellent way to extend this information into the community.
